Ayishih Bellew, M.S.

About Ayishih

Ayishih Bellew was born in St Thomas. She graduated from Antilles School as salutatorian.  She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of the Virgin Islands and her Master of Science degree in Data Analytics from the Georgia Institute of Technology.


Bellew has held a long and illustrious career at UVI. She has worked 15 years at UVI’s Eastern Caribbean Center (ECC) conducting survey research and data analysis. She has co-authored several analytical reports. She now serves as the unit's Statistician. Bellew was recognized as the UVI Distinguished Employee of the Year in 2006 and was subsequently awarded the UVI WOW Customer Service Award in both 2016 and 2017.


Bellew served as the Local Census Office Manager for the St. Thomas / St. John District in 2010. This was an assignment entrusted to her by the ECC, which serves as the Virgin Island’s Census Data Center. It was an honor for Bellew to be selected for this role.

 

Bellew was instrumental in the development of the Data Science Certificate Program at UVI. She is passionate about increasing the capacity of the VI Government to make data-driven decisions and to increase their ability to provide justification for funding.


Bellew is an active member of her church, serving as the Children’s Church Director. Bellew has been married to Todd Bellew for over 20 years. They have four children together – Kaleb, Keziah, Kayla and Kristopher.
